Books: There are a lot of books listed here for your reference. We may or may not work on every book you see here. We will discuss what books you will need in your lesson.

Recordings: Students are often confused about how to make their tone better. The best way is by listening to great music and great performances on their instrument live; the second best method is recordings. I'm in the process of listing a good deal of brass recordings here, both jazz and classical. I recommend that you start with just one recording and then work on building a library for yourself. (Remember, having a recording does you no good unless you listen to it!)

Equipment: Most students start band with a beginner instrument. There are many reasons as a student develops that they would want to upgrade to 'better' instrument. I like the analogy of a bicycle, the bike you learned on when you were 4, with training wheels and streamers on the handle bars, is probably not the best for competitive racing when you're 16. One of my responsibilities as your teacher is to assist you with decisions on a new instrument/mouthpiece (when you're ready) or a recommendations for a repair if needed.

Tools: ALL STUDENTS NEED BOTH A METRONOME AND A TUNER.  Korg sells a combo Metronome/Tuner - Model TM40, but any brand is fine as long as it works.
