Most students begin playing an instrument in their school band class. This is a wonderful and fun learning experience. However many band classes have at least 30 and sometimes in larger bands 60+ students per class. Even with two band directors students do not get many opportunities for one-on-one instruction. This is where the private instructor comes in.

Weekly private lessons provide students with individual guidance specific to their unique needs. In a recent survey over 85% of the members of the SC All-State Band reported taking regular private lessons. The answer is simply that private lessons work. In the lesson students are exposed to much more music for their instrument than is possible in an ensemble setting. Their progress is accelerated and they will enjoy playing more.

I try to limit my studio to mostly Trombone and Euphonium (Baritone) students. But I do have a few spots for those interested in Tuba, and Trumpet lessons as well. I teach all lessons in either Fort Mill, SC or Marvin, NC. If you are interested in becoming a student or just taking a few lessons please contact me to check on my availability and rates.
